We are coming up on Holiday Gift Season quickly, which means I have to start getting ideas together and organized for what to get everyone. This year, I will be compiling my lists and research to share in a series of blog posts. The goal is to help others (you) easily shop and find what you need for your loved ones.

The bearded men in your life
Everyone is different, as we all know, and that includes men with beards. Some men who wear beards prefer to wash and go; no extra product, no extra fuss. Maybe a trim here and there. While some others love to experiment with oils, balms, waxes, special shampoos and the like. This guide has something for everyone.
The “wash-n-go” man
An Electric Razor Ceenwes Electric Razor 7 in 1 Beard Trimmer
Getting 4.5 Stars on a grooming item on Amazon seems almost impossible, but this razor was able to do it. No matter how much or how little you want to maintain your beard, at some point you will need to trim, or “clean up”. This is perfect for men who don’t want a lot of different tools laying around as this will do anything you need for your beard, while also being able to groom the hair on your head, mustache, or sideburns. It also comes with a nose hair trimmer, is fully washable for easy cleaning and the best part? It works in or out of the shower.
Face & Beard Wash- Rocky Mountain Barber Company Bar Soap
The Rocky Mountain Barber Company has a 5-in-1 bar soap that is perfect for the guy who wants as few products as possible. Each order comes with (1) birch and (1) cedar spice bar. The bar soap, which is a shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash and beard wash, is made with 6 essential oils combined to leave skin feeling soft and clean. The reviews are mostly positive, with the biggest drawback being how long it lasts. However, several reviewers mentioned that keeping it out of the water helped it last longer.
Especially for someone only using this for face and beard, I think this is a winner. Many of the reviews talk positively of the smell and the results, especially that the users skin doesn’t get irritated and feels soft after using.
Good beard/mustache scissors- Equinox Professional Shears Razor Edge Series
With almost 3,000 reviews and still holding a 4.5 star rating, you know these scissors have to be good. They are lightweight, hand sharpened and the company touts that hairs wont clump together for uneven clipping. The blades have hand-sharpened edges making them extremely easy to use. The reviews all mention them being razor sharp, and the best shears they’ve used. Including barbers and hairstylists. A note made by the company which is worth mentioning to your gift receiver to be aware of: “NOTE – All Razor Edge Series Professional Shears come vacuum-packed in plastic casing and are coated with lubricating oil. Before first use, wash with gentle soap and lukewarm water then dry with soft cloth.”

Clear Beard Shaping Tool- Beard Shaping Tool by Bear’s Beard Care
There are a ton of beard shaping tools on Amazon-and across the internet- but most of them either look cheap and easily breakable or are stainless steel. While I understand the appeal of stainless steel, it looks nicer and it’s solid, I think clear is more helpful here. Having a clear beard shaper allows you to see the beard line that you are shaping making sure you are getting the lines and angles you want. This particular plastic is a bit sore sturdy than some of the others looked, and based on reviews I am dead on.
The beard shaper has several different shaping sides, allowing you to do goatee, cheek-swoop or step cut, and neckline. The men who have reviewed this tool all mention that it makes getting a symmetrical beard very easy. Several of them also mention that it makes touch up a breeze. The price point is reasonable, it is pretty average among the beard shapers I found, with several being pricier and a few lower priced.
Beard Balm- Honest Amish Beard Balm
This balm is a Best Seller on Amazon, has 5,000 customer reviews and still sits at 4.5 stars. It’s on my list for gifts this year, as the reviews make it hard to pass up. Having worked in skincare and with body products, the ingredients alone tell me it’s a good product. As a balm it will add a bit of hold, but mostly is a great leave-in conditioner to tame and soften. Argan oil is spectacular for moisturizing and healing broken hair, add to it pumpkin seed and apricot kernel oil and you have an ultra-reparative formula. They then add several moisturizing nut butters such as, cocoa, shea and aloe. Over all, the consensus from the reviews is that this is a superior balm, adding moisture and manageability. There is mention of a light fragrance, but Honest Amish also makes an unscented version of this balm.
Fair warning; don’t open it right after it shows up as it might be melted. Give it some time to solidify.
Beard Kit- Maison Lambert Deluxe Beard Kit
This beard kit is beautiful and comes in a wood cigar box for easy gift-giving. It includes all organic products; a beard wash, oil, balm and comb as well as a body bar soap. Great for sensitive skin, the products won’t dry you out. Created using a variety of oils and nut butters, and lightly fragranced using only essential oils. All of the reviews are 4 or 5 stars, and rave about the presentation and individual products.
If you are purchasing a bunch from Amazon this holiday season (as I do every holiday season) make sure to check out Amazon Prime! For $99 you can have free 2-day shipping all year, not to mention access to the best Black Friday deals early. Some are even special just for Prime members. I find that it’s super worth-it for my family. (My husband and I have the same prime membership covering both of our Amazon accounts, so that we can’t see what we are getting for each other for gifts.)
